Our history

Built in the 16th century, just ten minutes from the Royal Château of Amboise, the Château de la Huberdière is neither a museum nor a hotel like any other. It is a family home that is still lived in, and we welcome you here as if you were friends.

The hosts: Lodovica & Patrick

Lodovica Dal Pozzo d'Annone is Italian, an entrepreneur through and through. She shares her passion for art, literature and Italian cuisine. Patrick Jourdan is French – from Brittany, to be precise – with an international career and three passions: music, sailing boats and aeroplanes.

We’ve always loved having guests. Whether it’s small or large dinners, parties, or introducing our friends to the joys of sailing. Surprising, entertaining, delighting and pampering our guests has always been a source of joy for us.

A love of travel gave rise to a promise

It all began with numerous trips, whether for pleasure or business, and a definite penchant for comfort, hospitality, service, beauty and authenticity. From these journeys came a promise: that one day, we too would become the finest of hosts, offering a discerning clientele the pleasure of a simple and warm atmosphere.

All that remained was to find the perfect setting. That turned out to be the Château de la Huberdière, which we restored with great passion between 2021 and 2023.

Why the Loire Valley?

We chose Touraine for several reasons. Firstly, its rich culture and heritage: Amboise, Chenonceau, Chaumont, the Clos Lucé, Chambord and Villandry. Secondly, its natural beauty: the Loire with its wild riverbanks, the peaceful and romantic Cher, the vineyards and the state-owned forests. Finally, its accessibility: its proximity to international airports, Paris, the TGV and the motorways. Not to mention the variety of activities on offer and the serene refinement of the people of the Loire region.

Our strength lies in our hospitality

If we listen to our guests and their feedback, they are unanimous: our greatest asset is the way we welcome them. Attentive yet unobtrusive, considerate and generous, we always tailor our service to the mood of those who entrust their stay to us.

Carefully restored over the course of three years, the château is intended to be a setting for our lives, our travels and our passions. Our guests feel welcomed here as friends, free to stroll through the grounds, pick up a paintbrush or a guitar, leaf through an unexpected book or take a dip in the warm pool.
